Genre does not matter at all - TECHNIQUE MATTERS, THE INSTRUMENT OF THE VOICE MATTERS,
"The Voice is One"
Once you have it, any and all repertoire is yours to interpret.
SO WHY DOES NO ONE KNOW REALLY WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO EXPLAIN IT??
I TRAVEL THE WORLD, I HEAR AND SEE AND AM APPALLED BY WHAT IS OUT THERE -
WHERE IS "BEL CANTO"??? Where is beautiful singing???
HERE TODAY AND GONE TOMORROW -
THAT'S THE NAME OF THE SINGING GAME TODAY:
GRAMMY'S AND THEN VOCAL REST, VOCAL CORD NODULES, MECHANICAL VOCAL CORDS - WHAT IS GOING ON???
WHERE ARE THE VOICES OF THE PAST THAT SANG A LIFETIME???
I hear beautiful, exquisite instruments/Voices and they all "KNOW" how to sing for a while and then when things sort of 'peter out', they teach.
Disagree? - that's fine, you are entitled to your opinion -
Challenge me!
Please remember one thing - A SINGER SINGS - THAT IS HIS/HER LIFE, mentality, emotionally, psychologically - that is what they were born for....
When they are not singing ONLY, something is WRONG and this is my opinion, based on years and years (35) of experience with voices and singers.
One thing is teaching vocal Repertoire and/or Interpretation, but Technique that's quite another thing. A SINGER is NOT A TEACHER and I stand by that -
YOU ARE MOST WELCOME TO PROVE ME WRONG!
SOMETIMES YOU GET LUCKY AND GET A GREAT VOICE WALKING INTO YOUR STUDIO. If you HAVE YOUR EGO IN TACT, YOU TEACH REPERTOIRE AND GUIDE, but allow the voice to grow in its own place and stay there without Your imprint on it -
If You are SINGING to, or for your student, you will influence your student and his/her voice will and can only be secondary to your own.... (for expounded explanations, read the book)
Think about it and be honest - YOUR judgement is always based on YOUR own (the teachers) production - unless of course you can totally disconnect - and I have yet to see a Singer be able to do that while teaching. Singing is in your blood and using your voice is second nature- that is why you sing.
I am open to be proven wrong - anytime.
For the real Singer, who is intent on having complete and perfect use of his vocal instrument for a lifetime, insuring a voice that is free from force and strain, a voice that responds to every thought and a process that will grow and grow without limit, never ruining, hurting or stressing the instrument, what I teach, is the only WAY!!!
In "The Voice"(4), everything is explained without holding back anything - The three previous editions of the "Voice" are expanded here to include the Vocal Secrets of the greatest singers, (documented) .
This finally establishes the total validity of this work.
Please do not confuse or compare this technique with anything else being taught in the world today.This work stands on its own and I challenge the world of Vocal Arts and any teacher/ institution/therapist and am willing to go anywhere, anytime to prove the effectiveness of this work beyond a shadow of a doubt. ( English, German, Italian, Spanish, Hebrew)
